The Ministry Training Academy is a new initiative for ministry training in the North East of Scotland.

Through a partnership of local churches, the MTA has the primary aim of training men for preaching. The course is open, however, to both men and women who would like to pursue excellence in the study and understanding of the Scriptures in order to deepen love for God and his gospel. The MTA aims to prepare men and women for works of service in the church and the world.

Applications are now open. Applications for this year should be submitted by 31st March 2023.

Training more people in order to catalyse more gospel ministry in Scotland must be our number one priority. Therefore, to see a new opportunity for training in the North East of Scotland is thrilling. This faith-filled venture is the collective effort of a group of churches collaborating together in what I pray will be a rich, fruitful and transformative partnership. I look on with excited anticipation as to all the ways God might grow, use and prosper this work to the glory of His Son.

Jon Gemmell

Director of Cornhill Scotland

The emerging gospel vision and strategy in Scotland is focused on training gospel workers, planting gospel churches and building gospel partnerships. A national vision is the sum of different groups working together across Scotland for the greater good. Based in Aberdeen, the Ministry Training Academy will provide a regional focus for training working with a growing network of training churches in the area. May God use the MTA for the spiritual good of Scotland in these challenging times.

Robin Sydserff

Senior Minister, Chalmers Church Edinburgh: Chair, The Bonar Trust – gospel workers for the Church in Scotland

I’m delighted to see the establishment of the Ministry Training Academy. MTA has an impressive team and the need for ministry training is very great. I look forward to the blessing which will come from those who are trained at MTA.

Peter Williams

Principal, Tyndale House, Cambridge

Nothing is more vital for the health and mission of any community of believers than that they are fed and strengthened by the Word of God. Nothing, therefore, is more important for pastors and church leaders than being able, willing, skilled and motivated to preach and teach the Bible with clarity, faithfulness and relevance. So I welcome this initiative of MTA, trusting that, under God’s blessing, it will see the Bible changing churches so that churches in fully biblical mission can change the world around them.

Rev Dr Chris Wright

Global Ambassador and Ministry Director, Langham Partnership
